Kaitlin Jones is the Deputy Executive Director in the Office of Teacher Effectiveness for the New York City Department of Education. In her role, Kaitlin works closely with senior leaders to ensure that the NYC Department of Education has an aligned teacher evaluation system that is consistent with its integrity and policies and contains quality programs and resources to train, develop, and evaluate teachers. Prior to this role, Kaitlin served as the principal of Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School in New York City, where she led significant school-wide improvement, moving the school from a C to an A within two years. Before becoming a principal, Kaitlin served as the Chief of Staff in the Office of Assessment and as Lead Senior Instructional Coach of the Common Core pilots for the New York City Department of Education, where she led a team of Senior Instructional Coaches working across 100+ schools to inform strategy for citywide adoption of the Common Core State Standards.
Kaitlin holds an M.Ed. from Harvard and a B.A. in English and Psychology from Georgetown University.
