Our mission is to attract, develop, and support aspiring school systems leaders from diverse backgrounds to be the catalysts for transforming public education to ensure that all students across the country have access to excellent educational opportunities.
The Fellowship is a leadership development program whose explicit goal is to prepare career educators to serve as instructionally focused cabinet-level leaders within three years of completing the Fellowship. Launched in 2012 at Teach For America, the Fellowship is now a project of Cambiar Education. At its new home, the Fellowship remains deeply committed to developing and supporting the next generation of transformational school systems leaders. In response to the clear need from the sector, the Fellowship will intensify its focus on instructional excellence and provide fellows multiple opportunities to improve their leadership and skills in this important area.
The Fellowship is a yearlong, residency-based, cohort program whose goal is to prepare fellows to serve as instructionally focused cabinet-level leaders within three years of completing the Fellowship. Upon acceptance to the Fellowship, fellows work with the SSLF team and placement partners to secure a full-time, paid, cabinet or sub-cabinet level role in a public school system. Through a combination of cohort seminars, individualized executive coaching, and ongoing career management support, our fellows develop the instructional, innovation, managerial, strategic, and political skills they need to become effective systems level leaders.
